Inventive. Deeply rooted.
Since 2007, the Mexico City-based band Ampersan has cultivated a close relationship with traditional music, experimental music, and poetry, mixing traditional instruments with modern genres such as rock, jazz, and electronic music. Ampersan creates immersive musical poetry that celebrates the cultural diversity of Latin America.
More than just performance, Ampersan’s work is an artistic journey — they reimagine folk traditions, musicize poetry from Latin American literary voices, and bring acoustic and electronic elements together in a way that feels both timeless and cutting-edge. Their compositions have resonated far beyond concert halls, finding place in film, theater, dance, and poetry projects, and they’ve captivated audiences across Mexico, Europe, South America, and the United States.
With a rich discography that includes Flor de Biznaga, Autorreverse, and 6 Conejo, Ampersan stands out as a project that celebrates heritage while pushing sonic boundaries — making each performance a cultural and emotional voyage.
