TIMPANA is a Bolivian actress and music producer with an extensive artistic career spanning both cinema and music.
Her work has been released by labels and platforms such as Sounds and Colors (UK) and Turntables on the Hudson (New York), and more recently through her own label, Primavera Anónima.
Her songs revolve around ancestral knowledge while exploring contemporary themes such as identity, female empowerment, and environmental dissidence, channeling a utopian vision of Andean-Amazonian futurism.
TIMPANA LIVE is an ecstatic celebration of free-form dance, inviting audiences into an organic realm of connection with the Earth and ancient memory. Afro-Amazonian rhythms from South America, charangos, Andean winds, and electronic samples converge to create an unforgettable psychedelic and visual experience.
Led by TIMPANA’s extraordinary vocal range — from deep, resonant tones to soaring high notes — the performance features songs in Quechua and Guaraní, languages rooted in the highlands and lowlands of Bolivia. Each song invites the audience on a “journey towards our own self-discovery” (Sounds and Colors).
As a way of awakening our deepest rhythms, we embark together on a sonic and visual journey into a powerful, playful, and communal sensory adventure.
